HussifThere is a scheme in France where the government will pay people to repair their clothes. This artist’s book reflects on the idea of mending and repair, using the artist’s grandmother’s and mother’s sewing kits as inspiration. A ‘hussif’ or ‘housewife’ is a portable sewing kit that family members wouldmake for soldiers. They are still used today on film and theatre sets.The book is made using low tech print processes - the case is hand dyed, paper stencils are used to create screen printed marks, rubberstamping adds the detail with a monotype title created using carbon paper.Hand dyed paper, silkscreen print and rubber stampingSize 23 x 14 x 1 cmEdition of 12

A screen printed concertina book maps the transformation of a landscape from woodland to more developed crofts, larger communities, before returning to fallow. A set of seed packets consist of a seed bank - containing nigella seeds, a food bank - containing pea seeds and a clothes bank - containing a loop of thread. These banks promote sustainability and community building, yet they are also now a necessity for many in our communities.Finally a map of a community garden explores the possibility of individuals gathering side by side, walking through life and finding new ways forward through a variety of approaches.Silkscreen and digital printSize 26.5 x 17 x 3 cmEdition of 6
